Modern Jazz Piano

I’m excited to present the building blocks that provide the foundation for jazz
improvisation. This book is geared toward the student who has already achieved
an intermediate level of sight-reading and technical facility, but who has
had limited exposure to jazz along the way.

This manual includes concepts such as: triads, chords, inversions, progressions,
drop 2, tensions and alterations, upper structure triads, diminished scales
and chords, arpeggiation, rhythm, approach notes, walking a bass line, comping,
the blues, 15 original tunes transcribed with playalong CD, and a list of
pianists and tunes that every aspiring jazz musicians should know!
